Endless Pursuit

Show up. They’ll see it.

A mobile app where ambitious people track their progress with a small circle that holds them accountable.

The problem

Nickolas wanted an app for people who say they’ll work on themselves, and then don’t.

Tracking apps are lonely, and accountability groups live in messy group chats. The idea only works if two things are true:

  • Logging takes seconds.
  • Your group can see whether you showed up.

What I built

Log it in one tap. Your circle sees it live.

01

Straight into your tribe

Onboarding starts with one question: what are you pursuing? Body, Work or Mind. Then it puts you in a circle of up to 20 people who see your day as it happens.

Solo tracking isn’t what this is. This step can’t be skipped. From the circle screen

Onboarding: What are you pursuing? Train & fuel, Build & ship, Read & reflect
Onboarding: Get into a circle. Start a circle, join with a code, or find one
02

One tap, and your day goes live

Every tracker is a one-tap widget on Today: a focus block, a meal, a training session, pages read. Your day card fills itself in, and the activity bar shows the whole day from 6:00 to midnight. There is no post button. Logging is posting.

Who showed up today

The circle card shows who has logged today, the circle run (days in a row when everyone showed up) and who is still quiet. One tap nudges them. It’s allowed once per person per day, and the database itself enforces that.

Privacy, per circle

You choose which numbers flow to each circle. Weight is off by default. The fact that you showed up always flows.

A feed that stays short

One living card per person per day. Your circle comes first, then the people you follow.

Settings without a release

Circle size and limits live in the database, so Nickolas can change them without shipping a new version.

Design system

Liquid Glass, with an honest fallback.

I gave the app its own design system. On iOS 26 the tab bar, pills and round buttons use Apple’s native Liquid Glass. On Android and older iPhones they switch to a frosted look that doesn’t pretend to be glass.

  1. 01Numbers are the hero.
  2. 02Gold is rare: one gold button per screen.
  3. 03Each mode has one colour.
  4. 04Glass is chrome, never content.
  5. 05Motion confirms. It doesn’t decorate.

iOS 26 and later: native glass, with lensing and a specular edge.

How I built it

Every screen agreed before any app code.

Before writing app code I built a clickable prototype of the whole app, so every screen was agreed up front. Then I designed the product topic by topic and wrote each decision down. I make the calls, and the AI that does the typing works from those decisions, not from guesses.

    One codebase, its own look

Flutter for iOS and Android, with a design system of its own instead of Material or Cupertino.

  2. 02

    The rules are plain code

What counts as showing up, streaks and circle runs live in plain Dart, and every rule is unit-tested.

  3. 03

    Privacy the database enforces

Row-level security on every table, so even a modified app can’t read around it.

  4. 04

    Live by default

Supabase Realtime pushes your day to your circle the moment you log something.

  5. 05

    Nothing hard-coded

Circle size and limits live in an admin-editable config, with safe defaults if it can’t load.
